Peter Vesterbacka, Maker of Angry Birds Talks about the Birds, Apple, Android, Nokia, and Palm/HP

Share this:

There are many speculations regarding the cause of the recent global economic recession, but we all know the truth. It was the Angry Birds and their affect on the productivity of the work force. Angry Birds is a true mobile wonder with over 50 million downloads, 80% of users keeping the app installed, and as Peter Verterbacka, the “Mighty Eagle” of Rovio, makers of Angry Birds puts it, that number is without the holiday stats, which broke a record of a million downloads a day.

5 iPhone Apps to Install Right Out of the Box

With over 300,000 apps for the iPhone, one of the biggest challenges that many companies are trying to overcome, is discovery. This is a challenge for the iPhone user who is overwhelmed by the vast selection of apps, but it is also becoming a serious problem for the developer who spends time and money developing an app, that more often than not, ends up falling into the black hole of the App Store.

An Interview with Alyssa Milano: Actress, Philanthropist, Entrepreneur, and Twitter Superstar

Share this:

As a blogger, there are a few very defining moments. This is one of those moments. An interview with Alyssa Milano. Where do I start? Alyssa is one of the few actresses who, as funny as might sound, transcends generations. What I mean is that while I grew up watching Saved by the Bell, my older brother grew up watching the Love Boat (he is ten years older than me), yet we both had crushes on Alyssa Milano growing up. I mean, who did not watch the show “Who’s the Boss”?

An Interview with Mike McCue, the Genius Behind Flipboard

There are hundreds of thousands of mobile apps across all the various platforms, but there is only one Flipboard. It says a lot about an app when its design makes it the app you use to show off your device to your friends and its functionality makes it the most used app on your device. Flipboard is that app. Its design and concept have made it one of the most viral apps ever and its simplicity and intuitive nature makes it a pleasure to use. Here is an interview with the founder.

An Apple iPad VS. RIM Playbook Video

Share this:

By now, I don’t need to tell you that tablets are the next . They are all over the place and everyone seems to be making them. Having said that, until now, tablets were primarily viewed and used by consumers and less as business enterprise devices. This is true about the iPad with its lack of multitasking (should finally be taken care of this week) the Samsung Galaxy Tab with its overall plasticy toy-like build, and Toshiba’s attempt at a tablet, the Folio, with the lack of an app store (review to follow).

The Jabra Halo is Some Bleeding Edge Bluetooth Technology

Share this:

Let me tell you a little story. As you probably know, I recently replaced my BlackBerry Bold with an iPhone 4. As soon as I got my new shiny iPhone, I wanted to test its Bluetooth capabilities among many other things. I plugged in my Jabra JX10, an ear piece I got for my birthday three years ago. Unfortunately, it would not charge. Now, the headset was not under warranty and I had not used in over a year so the fact that it would not charge did not completely surprise me. Despite that fact, I thought I would reach out to Jabra on Twitter and see if there was anything they can do.

How To Get Your Mobile App Noticed and Downloaded

Share this:

By now, you have most probably heard the ridiculous number of mobile applications available on the various platforms. Apple is leading the way with its 300,000 iPhone apps in the App Store and Google is catching up fast with 100,000 Android apps in the Android Market. Overall, as far as the consumer is concerned, this trend is a positive one. The more selection, the lower the prices, and the higher the standards for mobile apps.

Forget the iPad! How about a 58 Inch iPhone with Multi-Touch!

Share this:

OK I do not even know where to categorize this video. Is this thing real or a very fancy video editing job? If it is in fact real, how on earth does it work? The following is a video of a 58″ iPhone table with what seems to be an extremely responsive multi-touch interface. It is apparently activated with an iPhone app for jailbroken iPhones and it then controls your iPhone’s screen.
