If this blog has taught me anything, it has taught me how powerful search engines are and specifically Google. All it takes is a high ranking on Google and you can become a very successful site within no time. Now I have to admit, I know close to nothing about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) besides that every website needs it. If you do not know what SEO is, basically, it is the method used to optimize websites in order to achieve a higher ranking on Google.

Over the past few years, I have learned about a few key factors in optimizing sites, such as keywords, titles, metadata, and others, but the more I learn about SEO, the more I realize I know nothing about it. So when I was approached by a good friend, Mayer Reich who is an executive in a leading SEO company, RankAbove, asking me if I would like to see their software in action, I of course jumped on the opportunity.

When first laying my eyes on the RankAbove software, I was surprised not to see confusing and overwhelming numbers, but rather a pleasant-on-the-eyes interface that looked like it was actually usable. I was told by Mayer that he had already input my site the night before to save us the time of waiting around. He explained to me, however, that when uploading their clients’ sites, some of them including thousands if not tens of thousands of pages each, the software is able to digest it in less than one hour.

We sat for approximately two hours looking at all the output their software provided for my site. The information was as thorough and detailed as can be and as technical as SEO is, was presented in a user-friendly format of PDF or XLS. The information presented was easy to understand and implement. I was told that what we had done in 2 hours time was 3-6 months of work for an “SEO guy”, and I could totally believe that.

The software gives your site a general grade of how well it is optimized, it displays a clear list of all your errors including bad metadata, blank pages, or any other bad parameter on your site that would prevent Google from advancing your rank. Basically, RankAbove’s software is all you need if you want to be ranked high on Google.

After witnessing their program, I understood immediately how they landed such huge clients. Of course, I will not disclose details about who they do SEO for, but let’s just say, imagine the biggest internet companies you can think of, they are clients of RankAbove.

As I said, I was left with very detailed and thorough reports of what action to take next. It blew my mind.

I learned a lot about SEO from watching their software in action, and I proved to myself once again, that those people who claim SEO is not a serious or scientific field, are very mistaken.
